Brabant celebrates its freedom from October until May 2025. During this period, the sharing of stories about freedom will be central in the library. There will be a call to action and various activities focused on sharing stories. These will be combined with other activities related to freedom, building bridges (stories between generations), and inclusion.
Freedom Told at the Library
The launch of Freedom Told takes place in Baarle, the first town within the Theek 5 region to be liberated during World War II. Over the next six months, various stories from the region will be shared, all centered around the themes of freedom and the liberation of Brabant. The highlight of this period is the national Liberation Day on May 5th.
