Siebren Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema
Siebren Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema was born in the former Dutch East Indies and moved to The Hague with his parents in the 1930s. He studied Law at Leiden University, which the Nazis closed to students at the end of November 1940, following a speech by – and the subsequent arrest of – Professor Cleveringa (dean of the law faculty) and the resulting 48-hour student strike.
