The events always start at 7 PM.
The exhibition and accompanying events take place at the German-Russian Museum Berlin-Karlshorst.
Talks and discussions will broaden the topics of the exhibition focusing on various forms of encounters with the soviet military forces.
Beside the allied relationship, we will also discuss human relationships as well as the ‘brothers in arms’ or the role of the Soviet troops during the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The German-Russian Museum is located at the site of the unconditional surrender of Germany on 8 May 1945 in Berlin-Karlshorst, marking the end of the Second World War in Europe. Today it is a place where two former wartime enemies jointly recall some of their common, albeit very violent history.
25 years ago, the Soviet troops left Germany. This exhibition takes the opportunity to look back on their 50 years lasting presence with a special exhibition. The exhibition’s vernissage takes place on August 27th, 2019 at the German-Russian Museum Berlin-Karlshorst.
