This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Provence Landing. Between traditional festivities and fireworks, discover the program of the August 15th festivities in Le Lavandou.
For the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Provence Landing, the municipality inaugurates a memorial dedicated to the African Commandos in La Fossette and a gallery of honor where the story of the Commandos will be displayed.
10:30 am: Military Parade Boulevard of the Sea Front
11 am: Ceremony – Square of the Heroes
12 am: Wine of Honor – Forecourt of the Town Hall
10:30 pm: Fireworks followed by a ball with “The runners of Ocean”
From 4 pm: The pilots of the Patrouille de France present a demonstration in the sky of the bay of Lavandou. A meeting of the Air Force is also organised on the central beach.
75 years ago, on August 15, 1944, the 3rd American Infantry Division landed at Pampelonne, while paratroopers from the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion liberated Saint-Tropez. The city commemorates the liberation of Saint-Tropez and Provence.
