Vernissage of the exhibition of the German-Russian Museum on the 25th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet troops from Germany.
25 years ago, the Soviet troops left Germany. We take the opportunity to look back on their 50 years lasting presence with a special exhibition.
The German-Russian Museum is located at the site of the unconditional surrender of Germany on 8 May 1945 in Berlin-Karlshorst, marking the end of the Second World War in Europe. Today it is a place where two former wartime enemies jointly recall some of their common, albeit very violent history.
During the accompanying events of the exhibition ’25th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Germany’ at the German-Russian Museum Berlin-Karlshorst, talks and discussions will broaden the topics of the exhibition focusing on various forms of encounters with the soviet military forces. Different dates are available from September 12th, 2019 until January 15th, 2020.
