80 years of Liberation with new running activities. On Sunday 15 September, this year's Freedom Run - Liberty Loop will take place. A recreational run over five distances and named after our famous veterans Ken, Denys, Bill, Joe and Armando. At 10:30 am, the first starting gun will be fired at De Weeffabriek for the children's run (1/2 and 1 Mile), followed by the 10, 8 and 4 Miles from 11:00 am.
New is the possibility to participate in three walks provided with a route map. These walking routes are named after local resistance fighters; Henri van der Putt, Harrie van Gestel and Jan Heurkens.
You can choose from:
- Henri van der Putt 4 miles, a commemorative run through the city centre past monuments;
- Harrie van Gestel 8 miles, a run mostly through the greenery in Geldrop towards Mierlo;
- Jan Heurkens 10 miles, the longest run through the same greenery in Geldrop-Mierlo
The start times of the walks are between 9.00 - 9.15 (10 miles) 10.00 - 10.15 (8 miles) and 11.30 - 11.45 (4 miles)
Also new is the association/school run as part of the Kidsrun. The association or school from Geldrop or Mierlo with the most participants up to 14 years will win a fantastic prize, namely a big cup. Of course, every child can also participate individually in the kidsrun. We would be delighted to welcome many children, whether or not accompanied by a parent, at the start. Also this year, registration for children aged 4 to 14 (incl. accompanying adult) is free.

Online registration starts on Sunday 5 May via Registration closes on Thursday 12 September. Post-registration on Sunday 15 September is not possible. The maximum number of registrations is limited to 500, so be there on time!
