Body and Soul - Sport in Alsace-Moselle (1940-1945)

5/2/2024

9/15/2024

The exhibition "Corps et Âmes, le sport en Alsace-Moselle (1940-1945)" depicts the daily life of Alsatians-Mosellans, controlled and enrolled by the Nazi authorities right down to their physical activities.

Practiced daily by children at school or in the Hitler Youth, and by many adults in the army, at their workplace or volunteer work, sport framed society and conveyed the Nazi ideal of the new man desired by the regime. Whether amateur or competitive, it was intended to forge bodies and souls, the necessary tools for propaganda and the construction of the Third Reich.

Presented in French and in German, this exhibition echoes the Olympic and Paralympic Games held in Paris in the summer of 2024.

Exhibition to be discovered every day from 9.30am to 6pm (last entry at 5pm), from Thursday, May 2, 2024 to Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Open visit. Free admission to the exhibition.
