Museum Rotterdam ’40-’45 NOW

The Museum Rotterdam includes the permanent exhibition ’40-’45 NOW which is entirely devoted to the Second World War in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The exhibition examines how the citizens experienced the bombing, the occupation and the persecution of Nazi Germany. Personal stories are told and a large number of WWII items can be seen.

More than seventy-five years ago, Rotterdam was bombed. The aftershock of this still reverberates through the city. In the Experience in Museum Rotterdam ’40-’45 NU you will be transported back in time, to the Rotterdam of May 1940. Personal stories, intense images and dramatic sound immerse you in the moment. How does it feel when your life turns upside down in seconds, to see your home and city turned to rubble?
